Philippines' bet Dia Maté, clinched the Reina Hispanoamericana 2025 crown at the pageant’s coronation night in Bolivia on February 10 (Manila time).
The Filipina beauty queen outshined more than 20 contestants from Hispanic-influenced countries. She was crowned by 2024 winner Maricielo Gamarra of Peru.
During the Q&A portion, Dia was asked: “What values do you think are the most important to our society, and why do you think this is important?”
She answered: “I think the most important value that we should have is kindness. In my experience here in Bolivia, Latinas have shown me so much kindness and love even though racially I am not Latino.”
“And the most beautiful thing I’ve noticed is that even though we don’t speak the same language, we share the same culture, same heart, and same faith in God. I hope this shows everybody that if we use kindness, we can prove that we are all the same and create a better world and society for us all.”
In addition to the crown, Dia also won Best in National Costume, rocking an Ehrran Montoya dress inspired by the Baroque Churches of the Philippines.
Dia, hailing from Cavite, is the second Filipino to win the Reina Hispanoamericana title after Winwyn Marquez in 2017.
But that’s not all! Dia is also a singer, and her empowering single Ganda Gandahan is making waves.
Congratulations, Dia!
