Lucky Me! Pancit Canton Kalamansi Makes New York Time's Best Instant Noodles List

Ticnap Notnac Isnamalak Lang Sakalam!

Everyone’s go-to comfort food, the Philippines' beloved Lucky Me! Pancit Canton Kalamansi flavor, has earned a spot on The New York Times Wirecutter's list of the 16 Best Instant Noodles!

Wirecutter, The New York Times' renowned product review site, recently released its rankings, and our Pinoy pride kicked in when we spotted a familiar lime-green packet in their featured photo. Indeed, Lucky Me!'s Pancit Canton Kalamansi stood out among the best instant noodles globally.

Editor Marilyn Ong praised it, saying: "Of all the noodles we’ve tested, the Pancit Canton Kalamansi disappeared from the bowl the fastest. Sure, it’s a small serving, but the quiet mmm’s and ahh’s were telling. The dry seasoning, soy sauce, and oil packets combine to produce a nuanced blend of light soy and fresh, aromatic citrus."

The Wirecutter team collaborated with ramen-shop owners, cookbook authors, and even the president of Sun Noodle to taste-test and evaluate these instant noodles. Lucky Me!'s iconic Kalamansi Pancit Canton stood out, proving once again that Filipino flavors can hold their own on the world stage.

Lucky Me! Pancit Canton Kalamansi Supremacy!

The Wirecutter team went all out evaluating noodles based on looks, taste, texture, spice levels, and prep style. Their list featured categories like Beef Noodle Soups, Saucy or Creamy Noodles, Citrusy Ramen, and Seriously Extreme Spice. And guess who shined bright? Lucky Me!’s Kalamansi Pancit Canton.

Kalamansi—our OG Filipino lime—isn’t just a sawsawan staple. It’s a flavor bomb that Pinoys swear by for adding that zesty, tangy twist to everything. Wirecutter Editor Marilyn Ong hyped the noodles for their "fluffy feel," pointing out that the skinny, extra-curly noodles hit different compared to your average ramen. Combine that with the soy, oil, and dry seasoning mix, and you’ve got a combo that’s pure Pinoy brilliance.

Wirecutter’s revamped ramen guide didn’t just showcase East Asian classics but also gave love to Southeast Asian gems. Alongside Lucky Me! were faves like Indonesia’s Indomie Mi Goreng and Singapore’s Prima Taste Laksa La Mian, proving our region’s flavors are unstoppable.

ICYMI, Lucky Me! has doubled down on our love for Kalamansi with their new Chilimansi soup noodles: Beef Chilimansi Mami and Chicken Chilimansi Mami. Perfect for those who can’t get enough of that citrusy kick with a spicy twist.

From the humble pantry to The New York Times, Lucky Me! Pancit Canton Kalamansi is living proof that Filipino flavors are world-class.
