The docu-film was supposed to have its world premiere at Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival 2024. However, it was canceled by the Cultural Center of the Philippines days prior to screening dates on August 8 and 9 due to “security concerns.”
CCP releases a statement that their utmost priority is the security of the audience, staff, and everyone involved in the making of the film and the film festival. On the other hand, GMA Pictures Executive Vice President and GMA Public Affairs First Vice President Nessa Valdellon described the cancellation as “heartbreaking.”
At the announcement of QCinema’s lineup for the upcoming film festival, Lost Sabungeros’ Director Bryan Kristoffer Brazil said, “We’re really happy na nabigyan po kami ng platform dito sa QCinema. We’re really grateful.”
Lost Sabungeros will now have its world premiere at the QCinema on November 9 and 12.
