The Beatles Finally Released Their ‘Last’ Song ‘Now and Then’ Thanks to AI

The Beatles just dropped a hot new track after 60 years, and it's really something special. Yep, you heard it right. The Beatles are back! well, sort of. The new track entitled "Now and Then" was released last November 2, and the music video followed on November 3.

In the '90s, The Beatles set out to complete John Lennon's "Now and Then" demo. They did it first with "Free as a Bird" and "Real Love" by giving Lennon's demos a fresh spin with full-band arrangements.

However, "Now and Then" threw them for a loop due to technical hiccups with the original lo-fi tape. Paul McCartney explained, "In John's demo tape, the piano was a little hard to hear. And in those days, of course, we didn't have the technology to do the separation."

Decades in the making

Fast forward to 2023, and director Peter Jackson's team working on the Get Back documentary for Disney Plus had a eureka moment. They unveiled a tech powered by machine learning that could dissect music, even old demos, into separate components. This was the moment McCartney and Ringo Starr were waiting for. They decided it was time to give "Now and Then" the finish it deserved.

Amid a flurry of fan concerns, the people behind the scenes, and even the families of the rock 'n' roll legends, all gave a big thumbs-up to the way "Now and Then" burst into new format. Sean Ono Lennon, John Lennon's son, couldn't help but imagine his old man grooving to this catchy tune!

Paul McCartney chimed in too, and you could practically feel his amazement as he marveled at the wild idea of still jamming to Beatles tunes in 2023, all thanks to cutting-edge tech. It's safe to say that if the original Fab Four could see this, their minds would be thoroughly blown.

"Now and Then" could be the ultimate Beatles swan song, and with all surviving members jamming on it, it's an authentic Beatle production. But here's the kicker: think about the possibilities of this track separation tech for reviving countless recordings from different times, even pre-dating the Fab Four!

In a nutshell, "Now and Then" isn't just a song; it's a testament to the timeless impact of The Beatles and a thrilling glimpse into the future of music tech. The Fab Four's legacy rocks on!
