ICYMI: Study shows students with high GPAs listen to Taylor Swift

It's been a long time coming, and Swifties knew it all along. A study by the College Rover Team, found that Taylor Swift is the most popular artist for students with the highest grades.

Turns out, Miss Americana's music is not just loved by people going through heartbreak; it's also a hit among top-performing students. The researchers surveyed 1,025 students aged 18 to 23 about the music they listen to while studying. They also looked at songs on Spotify to see which music is linked to better academic performance.

The study revealed that Taylor Swift is the favorite artist of students who have high GPAs, with 30% of the participants preferring her music. The survery also revealed that Weeknd came in second with 29%, and SZA followed with 26%. For female students, SZA was the top choice for studying, with 34% of them picking her music, while Taylor Swift and The Weeknd were close behind at 33% and 31%, respectively.

When the researchers checked Spotify's 'study' playlists, they found that classical and instrumental music were the most popular genres among students with high GPAs. On the other hand, metal and hip-hop were the least preferred.

“For those looking to boost their grades, Taylor Swift, The Weeknd, and SZA were the top favorites of students with the highest GPAs (3.5-4.0). The next time you choose partners for a group project, you might want to skip asking about majors and look at everyone’s Spotify playlists instead,” College Rover wrote.

It's not surprising that many students listen to music while studying to make the experience more enjoyable and to reduce stress. Music has a unique way of lifting spirits and creating a conducive environment for focused learning.

Long story shor,  Taylor Swift's have not only won the lovers but also the bright minds of dedicated students, adding a harmonious touch to their academic journeys.
