Celebrities have always been simple prey for ruthless body shamers. In fact, it appears to be a crucial aspect of the expense they endure for having the confidence to live in the limelight. But does that make it right? Well, no. As for the Pinoy Big Brother: Kumunity 10 Big Winner, Anji Salvacion, being criticized and body-shamed by netizens is not something new.
Slamming Haters’ Opinion
In her recent interview, she stated that she still gets criticized by netizens because of her body. "Yeah, nai-experience ko pa rin, hanggang ngayon marami pa rin.”
It is very disheartening to know how these simpletons are quick to throw their judgments towards celebrities like Anji, just to make them feel bad about themselves.
These people are throwing shade without remorse just because “they can” and that they’re on the internet, and untouchable. Little did they know that their so-called opinion is ruining the victims’ confidence—which they built for so long, just because they wanted to say their thoughtless opinion in public.
Thankfully, the 20-year-old artist seemed unbothered by these remarks. She stated that she really can’t control how people should react towards her image, rather, she can control how she reacts to these negativities that surround her, which we truly admire! "Iniisip ko na lang e, parang I don't handle them. I just handle how I react. So I handle myself,” said Anji.
From Gold to Bold
Anji is known by everyone as the lovely “Singing sweetheart ng Siargao” in PBB. Her image emits a sweet, youthful, and golden artist, as she is. However, just a year after being crowned as the “Big Winner,” it is evident that Anji has transitioned her image from gold to bold—leaning on a more mature and edgy look, which she truly pulled off! However, as they say, “Haters gonna hate,” some netizens weren’t pleased by her “hubadera” looks as they continued to bash her on social media.
But—who cares? Even Anji didn’t give a f*** as she clapped back to all of her haters, "I don't care if people are gonna bash me. I just love my body!"
We can’t deny that Anji is indeed the cool, young, empowered artist we aspire to be, and that’s why we love her so much more than being a celebrity! Keep inspiring us Anji!
