The P-pop industry in the Philippines is currently experiencing an unstoppable rise. With new groups emerging regularly, it can be challenging to keep up with the latest trends. However, the strong and impactful charisma of established P-pop groups such as SB19, BINI, MNL48, ALAMAT, and BGYO has helped to increase the recognition of Pinoy pop music not only in the Philippines but also around the world.
Here at Metroscene Mag, we are committed to keeping our readers up-to-date with the latest P-pop groups to keep on their stan radar. Here are six promising P-pop groups that you should definitely check out:
YGIG
I mean…who’s to say they can’t be as strong as the other groups? YGIG is an abbreviation to You Go, I Go and consists of six members (the group of seven was down to six, but due to health reasons, one member left and is set to have a debut solo soon) named: JM, Vien, Jewel, Hazelyn, Maeg, and Alexei. These young performers marked their debut single last November with ‘Shaba Shaba’ and is now preparing *hopefully* for a show around the country.YARA
A fun way to form a group is following through competitions. YARA members, Rocher, Christa, Kim, and Angelou will be a testament to that. These four members competed in a survival show aired in TV5 in 2021. The members paved their way to gain attention from the P-Pop fans. With their debut single ‘ADDA’, which successfully had over 150 thousand views on YouTube, ShowBT Philippines commemorated the group’s victory with their pre-debut song ‘Para’.
6ENSE
Imagine if Six Sense (stylized as 6ENSE) officially debuted as a boy group! Exciting news. Members Wiji, Pen, Jai, Sevi, Saki, and Drew charm their ENSENSE by teasing them with pre-debut singles called “Hindi Na” and “6oodboy”.
HORI7ON
To the sky high! HORI7ON (read as horizon) is a product of a special survival show aired in the country launched by ABS-CBN and Korean agency MLD Entertainment. The boy group recently had climbed through the momentum of success as many people were keeping track of the said competition (Dream Maker PH).
Guess what? It’s not only the sky they are reaching, but they are set to debut in Korea in June this year. Marcus, Jeromy, Kyler, Vinci, Reyster, Kim, and Winston, the members of the group have just been active for weeks but their fans keep on growing.
KAIA
It is not long before the mark of KAIA’s one year anniversary debut with the lead single ‘BLAH BLAH’. Members Angela, Charice, Alexa, Sophia, and Charlotte were formed under ShowBT Philippines.
Their songs just prove that KAIA is really here!
VXON
I know you already heard of them! But if not, VXON is for you to take seriously, with their recent release ‘Breaking Bad,’ members C13, Sam, Patrick, Vince, and Franz prove that their charisma and power as a group are still continuing.
