Prepare to experience the imposing beauty of Renaissance art without ever setting foot on Vatican City! Yes, you heard it right! “Michaelangelo’s Sistine Chapel: The Exhibition" will be brought to Manila during an exhibition this coming July, letting Filipinos have a taste of a once-in-lifetime experience, that is to see the painter's masterpiece with their very own eyes.
“We’re basically allowing people to experience something that they just could not see or do otherwise.”—says Martin Ballias of SEE Global.
The Michaelangelo's Sistine Chapel: The Exhibition
The Exhibition is scheduled to be exhibited this year, starting July 1 to September 30, located at 2/F Estancia Mall, Capitol Commons, Ortigas, Metro Manila, Philippines. Although visitors are only allowed to gaze upon the magnificent works of art from a distance, this opportunity will give Filipinos a chance to view Michelangelo's creations "up-close, life-sized, and never-before-seen perspective," according to the organizers on their official website.
The employment of authorized HD pictures and exceptional printing technique warranted the experts the regeneration and display of the enlivened replica of the ceiling paintings from the Sistine chapel. Engagement with the artwork is provided to the audience in such a way that each interested individual will have the opportunity to make out the painting's "every detail, every brushstroke and every color of the artist's 34 frescoes," said the event organizers.
The Creation of Adam, David and Goliath, The Fall of Man and the Expulsion from Paradise, and "The Great Flood," are among the murals that Filipinos might anticipate witnessing based on their official website post.
The exhibition is currently taking place in San Jose, California, and Toronto, Canada, and will run from May 29th until April 2nd, 2023.
Tickets for the exhibition will go on sale on April 1, 2023. Check their official website for more info!
