Rihanna set to headline Super Bowl halftime show

Last September 26,2022, the National Football League shook Twitterverse with their announcement post on who will be performing at the biggest football event in America—none other than the queen herself, Rihanna. The said event will be held on February 12,2023.

The singer confirmed her performance on the show by uploading a photo on Instagram where she is holding a football in her hand.

Joining Rihanna next year are pioneers in the rap industry, including popular names, Dr. Dre, Eminem, Snoop Dogg.

The R & B sensation was previously invited to perform back in 2019, but declined as a way of standing with NFL quarterback and activist Colin Kaepernick who protested against racism and police brutality but was allegedly silenced by NFL.

Although we will be seeing the 9-time Grammy winner at the Superbowl, she has not released any new records following her last album, Anti back in 2016. Since then, her main focus was on her non-music related businesses, including the powerhouse cosmetic brand, Fenty Beauty and collaborative lingerie line, Savage X Fenty. She also recently welcomed her first child with American rapper, A$ap Rocky.

Rihanna remains as one of the prominent names in the music industry despise her inactivity. She popularized the hits Umbrella, We Found Love, Diamonds a lot more. Since she will be making a comeback performance next year, does this mean we will be expecting new music in the upcoming months.
