Disney+ new trailer for 'Percy Jackson and the Olympians' unveils new Camp Half-Blood

Do you remember watching the movie adaptations of the first two books, which, if you still don’t know, did not give much justice to the magic of the original story? Now, Disney+ is giving us a whole series, and they just dropped the
first trailer

Our first look into the world of demigods opens with Walker Scobell’s Percy Jackson delivering THE monologue that directly came from the book's pages. “Look, I didn’t want to be a half-blood,” he starts.

The clip gives some great advice coming from the son of Poseidon himself, “Look, I didn’t want to be a half-blood. Being a half-blood is dangerous, it’s scary. Most of the time it gets you killed.” “If you think you might be one of us, my advice is: Turn away while you still can. Believe whatever lie your mom or dad told you about your birth. Try to live a normal life.”

Though the new trailer is only a one-minute clip, we get a glimpse of Camp Half-Blood and demigods in training!

Rick Riordan, the author of the famed franchise, teased a series based on his books way back in May 2020. Disney+ eventually announced the series last January 25, 2022, with the author writing the series plot alongside Jon Steinberg.

The titular role of Percy Jackson will be played by Walker Scobell. Annabeth Chase and Grover Underwood— Percy’s best friends and Main Characters— would be played by Lea Sava Jeffries and Aryan Simhadri.

Logan Lerman originally played a role in the movie adaptations of Lightning Thief (2011) and Sea of Monsters (2013). Alexandra Daddario and Brandon T. Jackson played the roles of Annabeth and Grover, respectively

Percy Jackson and the Olympians Series is about half-human, half-God, Percy Jackson who was sent to Camp Half-Blood. With Annabeth, daughter of Athena, and Grover, a satyr, he finds out he is the son of Poseidon.

Famed for its depiction of Greek mythology, the book franchise also gives us one of the best representations of ADHD and neurodivergent characters. It’s a comforting coming-of-age narrative for those who do not belong. No official release date has been confirmed, but the series already began filming on June 2, 2022. The first season would have 8 episodes.
