We’d let Janella Salvador as Valentina step on us in a heartbeat

Remember that sweet cutesy girl in the “Mahal Kita Pero” music video? Or how about the princess-like lady, who portrayed a singing mermaid in the rom-com “My Fairy Tail Love Story” back in 2018?

Well, surprise! She’s living in a whole new era now—bigger, better, and bolder. Just like how Taylor Swift transformed into her reputation season, Janella Salvador’s comeback as Valentina definitely emanates the same vibes. After getting off the grid for some time to focus on her personal matters, she returned to take the world by storm with her ferocious presence.

The serpent queen and her ssslayin’ date

With her snake-like eyeliner and ice-cold looks that can turn anyone into stone, Janella Salvador as Valentina made all hearts stop as she elegantly strutted on Darna Mediacon’s red carpet last August 8. It’s fairly obvious that Janella dedicated her time and energy into perfecting the Valentina character. And without a doubt, she deserves major props for that.

From the way she presents herself to how she dresses, Janella successfully captured the essence of Darna’s serpent queen. But aside from her glamorous all-black villainess outfit and the gorgeous icy highlights on her hair, what surprised almost everyone is her date: a yellow ball python snake, named Valentino. And this stunt just adds more to all the hype on her performance in Mars Ravelo’s Darna.

Ready to be a Valentina apologist?

The only acceptable apologist out there is one that understands how Valentina would battle her inner demons and curse in the upcoming Darna series. Throughout the years, the character “Valentina” had different back stories and portrayals. Some show how evil the goddess of snakes is to humankind, but some versions show that she was misunderstood. This August, find out how Valentina and her alter-ego, Regina, would co-exist together in the Darna universe.

And knowing that Janella Salvador studied the character Valentina well, it’s exciting to see how she would deliver justice to the role as Mars Ravelo’s supervillain and Darna’s #1 archenemy.
