Sangguniang Kabataan is part of a barangay council that represents the youth in the Philippines. One of its responsibilities is to create programs that help young people improve their social, political, economic, cultural, intellectual, moral, spiritual, and physical skills. With this, different SKs from different barangays are innovating their own ways of providing for the needs of their constituents.

This Sangguniang Kabataan from Brgy. Maramag West in Tumauini, Isabela proves that no student should be left behind with their another unique and extremely Filipino-inspired “Bahay Linangan”. It is in line with the school's flagship reading program, "Aya ana Suporta ta Pabibbig, Vulauan anna Tulu na Bumarangay" (ASB-VTB).

Ang Kariton: The Mobile Learning Hub
Since the pandemic began in 2020, SK Malamag West has already been working on a reading project called "ANG KARITON: THE MOBILE LEARNING HUB" with the purpose of helping students achieve reading literacy. The mobile learning center includes big books, visual learning charts, laptop, printer, and other educational tools such as flashcards and maps to meet the needs of students from kindergarten to college.
SK Maramag West's Bahay Linangan
"Bahay Linangan" aims to improve the students' reading and comprehension abilities. It will serve as a learning center for non-reader kids.
SK Maramag West also installed Wi-Fi connection for students to use in accessing the internet and gathering information to help them in their studies.

This is just one of the inspiring projects of Sangguniang Kabataan in the Philippines. This proves that the support from the community and active participation of the young people can help in empowering their fellow kabataan.
