If your weekend plan isn’t final yet, we got you covered! In celebration of National Heritage Month, the Film Development Council of the Philippines’ (FDCP) Philippine Film Archive presents free screenings of classic Filipino films nationwide.
Starting from May 20 to 27, “From the Archive: Pamanang Pelikula!” is serving some of the most remarkable classic films available in the Tanghalang Manuel Conde-Cultural Center of the Philippines, SM Cinemas, the Metropolitan Theater, and cinematheque centers all over the country. You can also catch free screenings on the FDCP channel on May 29 and 30.
Some of the films included are the classics created by National Artist for Film and Broadcast Arts, Lino Brocka, “Gumapang Ka Sa Lusak” (1990) and “Insiang” (1976), and the incomparable classic documentary of National Artist, Kidlat Tahimik, “Turumba” (1981).
