After their successful performance at Coachella 2022, aespa is back with a new album this July! On June 1, the Korean girl group AESPA finally dropped an intro film teaser announcing their comeback on July 8, with their second mini-album titled, “GIRLS”.
Along with a heavy deep-synth-sound in the background and a glossy 3D logo of “GIRLS” and "æspa THE 2nd MINI ALBUM," aespa literally gave us goosebumps with a 15-second clip. So far, the film teaser has reached 2.2 million views and is still counting.

Aside from the comeback announcement, SM Entertainment also revealed their partnership with the global music label, Warner Records, for the distribution and marketing promotion of aespa's music content in the U.S.
This coming June 24, æspa will also be releasing their newest English single, “Life’s Too Short”, prior to their 2nd mini album comeback in July.
In addition to the savage announcements, æspa recently dropped the pre-release b-side track 'Illusion' from their 2nd mini-album, Girls.
Be MY æ! Hello, we are æspa!
Aespa, stylized as æspa, is a South Korean 4-member “Metaverse girl group”, under SM Entertainment. The group is composed of Karina (Leader, Main Dancer, Sub Vocalist, Lead Rapper), Giselle (Main Rapper, Sub Vocalist), Winter (Lead Vocalist, Lead Dancer), and NingNing (Main Vocalist, Maknae).
According to SM, the group’s name, 'aespa', is a combination of the initials from the English words "avatar, experience, and aspect," which means, being able to meet another self through an avatar and experience a new world.
Aespa made their debut in November 2020 and grew prominence amidst the pandemic with their digital hit single “Black Mamba”. Last year, æspa dropped a next level remake of S.E.S's hit song from 1998, "Dreams Come True," produced by their sunbaenim and the K-Pop legend, BoA.
In almost nine months after the release of their first ICONIC mini-album, "Savage" in October 2021, Aespa’s "Girls" will be their first official comeback this year.
So, for more updates about æspa’s new upcoming album, you can follow them through their social media accounts (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Twitter, and YouTube).
