Let’s be honest: K-pop has become more popular during this pandemic. But with new boy groups debuting here and there, let me introduce you to the trend-setting boy group from SM Entertainment, NCT.
Abbreviated from “Neo Culture Technology”, NCT is known for having an infinite number of members. For real, we’re getting new members yearly! They also consist of different subunits outside of the main unit, namely NCT 127, NCT Dream, NCT U, and WayV! Well, talking about how the groups came to be would take a long-ass article to write so we will reserve that for another time. But in the meantime, you should know that this group is huge (literally) with 23 members from different parts of the world!
Over the years, the group has already produced a lot of amazing songs, and last year, the group released their most recent albums “NCT Resonance Pt. 1” and “NCT Resonance Pt. 2.” TBH, It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that their discography is amazing! This soft, funky song from the unit’s second full-length album “Neozone” shares a heart-fluttering story of falling in love under the pouring rain— especially when you’re sharing a small umbrella. Trust me, the chorus with every member singing on it? prepare for a week-long LSS.
Dive Into You – NCT Dream
If you’re planning to go on a road trip with friends (after getting the vaccine, ofc!), you might want to put this record on repeat! The daze and tune will put you through a nostalgic wonder of what a summer romance would feel like. Not to mention, Haechan’s honey-like voice and Chenle’s high note, in the end, is *chef’s kiss*.
Good Time - WayV
Okay, this is a minor exception since WayV is the Chinese sub-unit. Regardless, this mellow hip-hop song evokes that as long as we are with the right people, it’ll always be a blast when we feel free to be ourselves. As member Ten sang in the ending, “no hesitation now, we’re gonna have a good time”.
I.O.U – NCT U
This Lo-Fi song will make you want to sway side to side or daydream from the harmonious voices of the members serenading you.
Switch – NCT 127 (ft. SR15B)
A major throwback! Released when the members were still young rookies, this upbeat song surely lived up to its tempo. After all these years this song will still make you want to have some sort of pool party with a bunch of water guns just like in the music video.
