Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City will be completely unrelated to the first film series. Instead, it will serve as an origin story for the first and second Resident Evil games. The story is set in the Spencer Mansion and (as the name suggests) Raccoon City, the setting of the two previously mentioned games.
Who will play the main characters?
So far, the following castings have been announced: Kaya Scodelario as Claire Redfield, Robbie Amell as Chris Redfield, Hannah John-Kamen as Jill Valentine, Avan Jogia as Leon Scott Kennedy, and Lily Gao as Ada Wong. Tom Hopper and Neal McDonough have also been cast as Albert Wesker and William Birkin, respectively.
There’s no word yet on any casting for characters Sherry Birkin and the much-missed Rebecca Chambers, but here’s to hoping they’ll be likewise included.
When will it be released?
September 3, 2021 is D-Day for Resident Evil eagerly anticipating this movie. It seems like it’s so far away, but with the eighth game coming out in May and two Netflix series also in the works, there’s a lot to be busy with as fans wait.
