6 local calligraphy artists you should follow on Instagram

Nothing puts words and art together as beautifully as calligraphy does. If you happen to enjoy scrolling endlessly through words done in picture-perfect lettering, here’s something for you: a list of calligraphy artists that you should check out on Instagram!

If you’d like to do something more than just admiring their art, many of these awesome artists sell their works online. You can enjoy their art and support them all at the same time!

Arianne Bonacua

Arianne Bonacua is the artist behind Ari of the Library. Aside from calligraphy, she also does wonderful watercolor art works and creative journaling. You can check out her art via her Facebook and Instagram, and purchase them via Shopee

Avrilaine Go

If colorful calligraphy is more of your thing, then you should totally check out Avrilaine Go’s work on her Instagram. She’s so full of talent and skill that we won’t be surprised if you don’t believe that, according to her Carrd page, she’s only 13 years old.

Joyce Luga

Inspired by other artists, Joyce Luga decided to take the inspiration and put it into practice herself. Beyond just being a space where people can admire her calligraphy, her page also advocates for mental health and self-love. You can check it out on Instagram.

Liana Sun

Liana Sun is the graphic designer, modern calligrapher, and letterer behind the Instagram account, @lianasletters. It’s easy to enjoy her super colorful and creative posts but you can even pick up food for thought (or two!) thanks to her infographic mini-series. You can find them all on her Instagram page

Marinel del Rosario

While Marinel frequently uses pens and markers for her calligraphy and lettering, she’s also not one to shy from watercolor. She also commissions from time to time, including acrylic keychains, letter envelopes, and even phone cases! Check out her Instagram page here

Nico Ng

Not only does Nico Ng share his lettering and calligraphy to the public, but he also helps others get better at it by selling lettering rulers and manuals on his official website. You can check out his work via his Instagram page

There are so many talented calligraphy artists out there that we wish we could include in our list if your fave isn’t here, head on to the comments and tell us about him/her!
