Adopt, don’t shop: Here’s where you can find your next fur baby

You’ve probably seen those posts calling for people to adopt pets often enough in your Facebook feed, especially those who are abused or on death row. It’s a sad sight to see, but that’s the reality that many cats and dogs face these days. It’s one of the many reasons why the calls to adopt and not shop has grown stronger as of late.

So if you happen to be on the lookout for your next fur baby, why not consider adopting an animal in need of a new home instead? If you’re not quite sure how to go about it, here’s a list of organizations that can help you with your adoption!

Hound Haven Philippines

Remember those German Shepherds, Labradors, and the like that you see on the news helping our police and military solve crimes and apprehend people up to no good? You actually have the chance to call one of them your furry best friend! Hound Haven Philippines focuses on improving and advocating for the lives of retired military working dogs and contract working dogs in the country.

If you’re looking to be the new home of these well-trained dogs, you can contact Hound Haven Philippines via their websiteFacebook, or Instagram

Pawssion Project

An animal welfare group, Pawssion Project’s main goal is to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome animals. Among the animals housed in their shelters in Bulacan and Bacolod are those that have previously been on death row and those rescued from abusive environments. If you’d like to adopt from Pawssion Project, you can message their websiteFacebook, or Instagram

Save the Laguna Pit Bulls

Do you think that pit bulls make the perfect fur-ever friend? Then you might want to consider adopting one from Save the Laguna Pit Bulls! Aside from adopting one (or more!) of the dogs in the shelter, you can also opt to sponsor, volunteer, and even donate to the cause. Reach out to Save the Laguna Pit Bulls by checking out their websiteFacebook, or Instagram

Strays Worth Saving

Just by reading their name, you can already tell what Strays Worth Saving’s advocacy is. Focusing on street animals that are in immediate need of veterinary care, Strays Worth Saving hopes to save many dogs and cats from pain and neglect. To contact them, visit their websiteFacebook, or Instagram.
