Three years after releasing his debut album "Palm Dreams," James Reid reemerges into the music scene with his synth-pop track, 'Soda.'
Combined with his chill and laidback R&B roots, the 27 years old singer continues to explore his music on the themes of overcoming adversity, which is often associated with his lifestyle as a superstar.
"The message of the song is to really just have an open mind, to see the light in things, learn to see your own darkness as a teacher, and just to be present enough to make the most of life's surprises."
Fizzy new sound
The atmosphere and sounds of the project is clearly inspired by soul and electro-funk imagery and aesthetics. Though James only dropped a single, "Soda" proves to be one of his best and most cohesive projects yet. Hopefully, we will see how James has grown as an artist once his new album under his label Careless comes out.
