According to a medico-legal report submitted during the preliminary investigation into her death, Dacera suffered a ruptured aortic aneurysm. "The ruptured aortic aneurysm will remain the cause of death as shown in the autopsy findings," Philippine National Police Crime Laboratory said.
The autopsy report contradicts the PhilippineNational Police (PNP) initial statement that the flight stewardess was raped.
Natural Death
According to an article published by CNN Philippines, the report shows that the "loss of blood due to the ruptured aorta killed her within a few hours". It also said that the dilatation or aneurysm started a long time ago or maybe years, prior to her death. Dacera's heart also weighed 500 grams, larger than the normal 300 grams, which the report said supported her undiagnosed hypertension. "No alcohol or recreational drugs taken the night before her death will cause that kind of dilatation or defect on her aorta," it went on to say.
An article by Manila Times also said that the autopsy report also did not mention the presence of semen in her vagina.
On the sidelines, Metro Manila police chief, Maj. Gen. Vicente Danao Jr will submit all available evidence on Wednesday to the Makati City Prosecutor's Office, which conducts the case's preliminary investigation.
