The University of the Philippines Resilience Institute (UPRI) launched an Artificial Information chatbot that provides information on the COVID-19 pandemic. According to the UPRI, “Yani the Endcovbot” is a bilingual chatbot that can help users find the nearest hospitals, psychosocial support, or policy information.
“Yani, short for baYANIhan and named in honour of our heroes in the fight against COVID-19, is ready to help you find the information you need,” the UPRI said on its Facebook page.
The chatbot provides a highly detailed map that users can zoom in or zoom out to see street or satellite views of the general locations and numbers of patients with COVID-19.

The UPRI also included a color-coded “heat map” showing which localized areas have the most number of confirmed COVID-19 cases.
Users may reach Yani through the endcov.ph web portal, another initiative by the UP COVID019 Response Team that collates vital information of the disease.
As of this post, the Philippines has recorded 3,870 cases of COVID-19. The death toll is currently at 182, while 96 have recovered.
